Open to the trade winds.
A great room that opens onto the pool deck, an island kitchen built for long mornings, and ocean breeze running through every door.

Three bedrooms in the main house, a fourth in a beachfront cottage across the road. Sleeps eight, with 1,000 feet of privacy in every direction.
Book at Cayman KaiRum Barron sits on a twenty-foot rise on the north side of Grand Cayman. There is no neighboring house within 1,000 feet. On one side, the trade winds and the reef. On the other, the jungle.
The main house holds three bedrooms, a great room that opens fully to the pool deck, and a kitchen built for slow mornings. Just across the road, Little Barron, our beachfront cottage, sits on the sand. One room, one bed, one kitchen, one bath, the reef out the front door.
The property is managed end to end by Cayman Kai. You arrive to fresh linens and a stocked kitchen, and the rest of the week is yours.

A great room that opens onto the pool deck, an island kitchen built for long mornings, and ocean breeze running through every door.

Each bedroom looks onto either the water or the jungle. Linen, cool tile underfoot, blackout shutters for the morning after.

A free-standing one-room cottage on the sand, across the road from the main house. A queen bed, a small kitchen, a private bath, and the sound of the reef breaking after dark.

Everything we found we kept. Everything we did not need is gone.
The north side of Grand Cayman is a long way, in feel, from Seven Mile Beach. Fewer cars, smaller restaurants, and water that goes shallow and clear for hundreds of feet out. These are the places we tell guests about first.

A few minutes by car
The closest swimming beach. Shallow water for hundreds of feet out, hammocks under the casuarinas.

Five minutes by car
Beach bar downstairs, white-tablecloth restaurant upstairs. Order the French fries.

Ten minutes by car
A quiet sand spit where cushion starfish rest in shallow water. Go mid-morning, never at dawn or dusk.

Short boat ride from Kaibo
Stand chest-deep on a sandbar in the North Sound, surrounded by stingrays. Go early, never midday.
A longer walk through the north side, with everything we have found worth knowing.
